Who we are

Samori World (shop.samori.net) is operated by Samori Ltd ("we", "us"). Samori World is an affiliate travel-gear guide. We do not sell products, take payment, ship orders or handle returns. When you click a link to a retailer you leave our website, and any purchase, payment and delivery is handled by that retailer under its own privacy policy. What personal information we collect

Browsing and usage data: pages viewed, links clicked (including clicks on retailer links), device and browser information and approximate location. We collect this through Google Analytics 4, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Messages you send us: your name, email address and the contents of your message if you use our contact form or email us.
- Newsletter details: your email address if you subscribe to our emails, which are sent using our email provider Brevo.
- Technical data processed by Shopify, which hosts this website, such as IP address and security logs.
We do not collect payment card details or delivery addresses. Those are handled by the retailer you buy from.

How we use it and our legal basis

To run, secure and improve the website and to understand which guides are useful. Analytics is based on your consent.
- To reply to your messages. This is based on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
- To send you emails you asked for. This is based on your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email.
We earn a commission when you buy through some retailer links (see our Affiliate Disclosure). We do not receive your purchase details from the retailer through this website.

Cookies and consent

Analytics runs only with your consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using "Cookie preferences" in the footer of the site.

Who we share it with

Shopify (website hosting and security).
- Google (Google Analytics), if you accept analytics cookies.
- Brevo (email), if you subscribe to our emails.
- Retailers you choose to visit, which are independent and have their own privacy policies.
We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Some of these providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, they rely on safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy arrangement.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for access to your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our use of it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email shopify@samori.net. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we handle your information.

Children

This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it was last changed.
